PORTLAND, OR - March 12, 2002 - FirstPoint (formerly Teldata 
Solutions) and Neptune Technology Group (previously owned by 
Schlumberger) have agreed to transition Neptune's telephone Automatic 
Meter Reading (AMR) customers and business to FirstPoint. Neptune's 
focus on the delivery of wireless AMR products and services, and their 
commitment to providing their telephony AMR customers with upgraded 
service led to the decision.  John Parks, Director of Strategic 
Product Development for Neptune explains, "After testing FirstPoint's 
Meter Interface Units (MIU), we are pleased with the quality and 
seamless interface to the CMR Max Unix-based software platform. In 
addition, FirstPoint has an excellent customer service group that we 
are confident will manage the needs of customers during the transition 
and moving forward."

FirstPoint, an industry leader in telephony-based AMR hardware and 
software technologies will begin the changeover on February 1, 2002. 
Distribution to and processing of all telephone-based AMR accounts, 
manufacturing of MIUs, and software sales and support by FirstPoint 
will begin on this date.

Telephone-based AMR is a very cost-effective way to accomplish full-
scale meter reading deployments in any utility application, including 
residential and CII (commercial, industrial and institutional). High 
returns on investment and levels of efficiency can be realized with 
AMR.
